Insert page numbers into an existing PDF, choosing the position (footer or header; left, center or right), the starting number and the format (just the number, "1 / N" or "Page 1"). Great for handouts, contracts, essays and reports. Everything runs in your browser — the file is never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start numbering from something other than 1?

Yes. Use the "Start at" field — handy when the cover should not be counted or the document continues another one. E.g. starting at 0 makes the first page show 0.

Will the number cover page content?

The number is drawn in the margin (footer or header), outside the text area in most documents. If your PDF has edge-to-edge content, pick a position or size that avoids overlap.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

No. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first. The tool warns you when a file is protected, without freezing.
