Reduce the weight of JPG, PNG and WebP photos for websites, size-limited upload forms or storage savings. Adjust quality and maximum dimension and see each file’s final size before downloading.

How to use

  1. Drop your JPG or PNG images into the area above (you can add several).
  2. Adjust the quality level and watch the size drop.
  3. Download each compressed image or all of them at once.

Why compress images

Heavy images make websites slow, blow past attachment limits in emails and forms, and waste storage space. Compression cuts a photo’s byte count while keeping it visually identical: the eye sees no difference, but the file can be 70% smaller. It is the step every fast website takes before publishing a photo.

JPG and PNG compress differently

JPG uses "lossy" compression: as quality drops, it discards detail the eye barely notices — great for photos. PNG is "lossless" and keeps flat color areas and transparency perfect — ideal for logos, screenshots and illustrations. If your image is a photo, JPG yields the smallest files; if it has crisp text or a transparent background, PNG preserves it better.

Local compression, no limits

Everything happens in the browser: images are never uploaded and there is no daily cap. You can compress a whole album with no privacy worries. To change format (say, PNG to WEBP, which is even lighter), use convert image.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between quality and dimension?

Quality controls JPG/WebP compression (subtle visual loss). Dimension resizes the photo — a 4000px photo resized to 1920px looks great on screen at a fraction of the weight.

Does PNG compress too?

Yes, but PNG is lossless by nature; for photos, the biggest win comes from converting them to JPG or WebP in the converter tool.

Does compressing affect my original photo?

Never. The tool generates a new file for download; the original on your device stays intact.
