Where the rates come from

Currencies and metals come from a public FX source and use the mid-market price (the average of bid and ask), the same benchmark Google displays. Cryptocurrencies use the real-time international price in US Dollars, converted at the commercial dollar rate — which is why they match international aggregators and usually sit slightly below Brazilian exchange prices, which embed a local premium.

Commercial rate is not the bank rate

All values here are market references. When buying cash, using an international card or sending a remittance, the institution adds spread and taxes — the final amount is higher than shown. Use these pages to judge whether the rate you were offered is fair.
